CineCatch Privacy Policy
Effective August 3, 2026 · Last updated August 3, 2026
CineCatch is a movie discovery app. This policy explains in plain language what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can remove it.
01 / What we collect
We collect your email address, or your Google profile name and photo if you sign in with Google. We also store the display name, tagline, and built-in avatar you select, together with the movies you swipe on, add to your watchlist, and rate.
- Email address
- Display name and tagline
- Google profile name and photo, when you use Google Sign-In
- Selected avatar
- Movie swipes, watchlist, and ratings
02 / How we use it
We use this information only to operate CineCatch: to show your watchlist, build your taste profile for recommendations and Duo Match, and sync your data across your devices.
03 / Third parties
CineCatch queries TMDB for movie data and OMDb for IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings. These requests include movie identifiers, not your personal information.
We do not sell your data, display advertising, or use third-party tracking tools.
04 / Where it is stored
Your CineCatch data is stored with Firebase on Google Cloud and is scoped to your account through security rules. Other users cannot read your account data, and we do not access it in the ordinary operation of the app.
05 / Deleting your data
Open Settings → Delete Account in CineCatch to permanently remove your account and the data tied to it.
Guest accounts lose access to their data when they sign out because Firebase anonymous authentication cannot restore that guest session.
06 / Contact
